Compact HV transfocator

Compact HV transfocator

Transfocator - a device for the precise positioning of x-ray optical elements. The device is intended for instrumental focusing and control of the parameters of the x-ray flux in the synchrotron radiation channels, laboratory analytical and measuring systems of non-destructive measurements of complex structures and objects

  1. Ability of x-ray lens individual insertion in arbitrary order (e.g. 1, 5 and 64 or 1,2,3,4 lens might be inserted, the order is user-defined);
  2. Compact size;
  3. High accuracy of lenses positioning.
  4. Compactness (dimensions up to 420 x 350 x 350 mm (LxWxH));
  5. Light weight (with vacuum chamber - less than 40 kg);
  6. Vacuum compatible version — HV (10-4 mbar);
  7. High repeatability of lens positioning in the beam (+/- 2.5 μm);
  8. Ability to individually inserting one lens per cycle into the x-ray beam in the given order;
  9. Possibility of a step change in the focal length of the optical system;
  10. Minimal working distance (from first lens to sample - less than 50 mm);
  11. System for any number of x-ray optics elements (from 10 pcs.)2.
  12. * dimensions and weight of the device will change.

Rotary water-cooled beryllium target for compact neutron source

Rotary water-cooled beryllium target for compact neutron source

The device is designed to generate neutrons and to remove heat from a beryllium target as part of a neutron source..

The special design of the target makes it possible to remove a large amount of heat from the beryllium target under the proton beam exposure. The system is a drum on which beryllium segments are installed. The constant rotation of the drum makes it possible to alternately irradiate all segments of the target. This makes it possible to reduce the thermal load per unit area of the target.

  • Efficient heat removal: 2 kW and more;
  • Power of proton beam: 13 MeV;
  • Rotation frequency: 10 Hz;
  • Can be updating for a wide spectrum of powers.
Homogeneous catalysis fluorescent cell

Homogeneous catalysis fluorescent cell

Fluorescent cell for spectral diagnostics of materials in the in-situ mode in the liquid phase at elevated temperatures and pressures on synchrotron radiation sources.

Cell designed for highly absorbing media or samples with a low concentration of metal species in the catalytic system that require fluorescence regime of acquisition

  • Operating temperature up to 200 degrees;
  • Pressure up to 200 bar;
  • XANES researches;
  • A volume of 8.08 mL.
Homogeneous catalysis transmission cell

Homogeneous catalysis transmission cell

The transmission cell for spectral diagnostics of materials in the in-situ mode in the liquid phase at elevated temperatures and pressures on synchrotron radiation sources.

Cell was designed to perform XAS experiments in the transmission mode improving the spectra obtained at high energies of an incident X-ray beam or for solutions with low atomic number of the atoms in a solvent (water, organic solvents).

  • Operating temperature up to 200 degrees;
  • Pressure up to 200 bar;
  • XAS researches;
  • A volume of 5.3 mL.

Detector protection device for the protection of flat detectors

The invention offers an efficient solution to the aforementioned problems and is based on a device with a smart algorithm for automated beamstop placement.

The invention comprises a detector protection method which provides a fast and reliable way to determine areas of the detector which have to be protected by absorbers automatically. The new detector protection device enables an fast and very precise positioning of absorbers (e.g. W pieces) on a thin X-ray transparent carrier plate according to the determined position pattern. The absorbers are precisely moved by a software-controlled positioning arm, which is equipped with a manipulator. More than 100 absorbers can be placed, repositioned, and recollected to magazines.

The prototype of the device has already been successfully employed in several beamtimes at beamlines P21.2 of the PETRA III synchrotron at DESY and beamline ID31 of the ESRF.
